The dirty tricks of the Developer’s Alliance (DA) in Oudtshoorn is drawing condemnation across the Western Cape.
STATEMENT OF THE ANC WESTERN CAPE INTERIM PROVINCIAL COMMITTEE – 17 JUNE 2020
The Interim Provincial Committee (IPC) of the African National Congress in the Western Cape held its ordinary plenary session on Sunday 13 June 2020, virtually.
The IPC has noted with shock and disgust, the conduct of MEC Anton Bredell who was caught on a recording instructing DA Councillors in Oudtshoorn to effectively collapse the municipality.
The IPC will act against the MEC as this is a gross violation of the Executive Ethics Code and a gross abuse of office.
The ANC also notes the collapse of DA coalitions across the province with specific areas such as Knysna and the Karoo now under ANC coalitions. We have wrestled Cederberg and other Municipalities in the West Coast from the DA mismanagement, and we will continue to do so as we approach the local Government elections.
The people of the Western Cape have now woken up to the farce of the so-called “clean Governance” of the DA. It’s record of corruption and maladministration are there for all to see, the collapse of the George Municipality is another case in point.
