Turns out that the clothes were brought in by a Taiwanese businessman with connections to the ruling party. Apparently the t-shirts got held up at Customs because of unpaid import duties. The ANC leaned on Ivan Pillay, then acting commissioner of SARS, to release the goods but the good man refused, thus making the bankrupt ANC fork over R41-million to the tax man.

Either the ANC needs to get serious about cleaning itself from within or i hope the Alliance comes crashing down, NUMSA steals some of their votes and Independents rise!
No, the DA aren’t included – they suck too. It’s far too easy for Helen Zille and Mmusi Maimane to point fingers, a convenient distraction from the very real fact that that the DA’s house is dirty too.
Voters need to get educated on local politics and then vote responsibly, ensuring that who they vote for signs a commitment form that they can enforce. No one deserves a guaranteed job for 5 years no matter what they do. They need a job guaranteed by positive actions only!
