ANC's Lawyer Responds to Bitou DA
When COPE’s Adam van Rhyner took his swing vote away from the DA and gave it to the ANC, he was intending for the ANC to take over the reigns of power in Bitou. But the Speaker, Annelise Olivier, denied their right, under Section 29, to call the Special Council Meeting that would have undoubtedly transferred power. That led to a whirlwind of accusations and court action the past 4 days.
In ‘Bitou’s Speaker’s Court Action Details’ i shared with you the DA’s argument for why the meeting should not be held. I now share with you the ANC’s counter-argument, as delivered by Hardy Mills via De Klerk & Van Gend Attorneys to the IEC and Bitou’s Municipal Manager Allen Paulse (click the link to download).
