Finance MEC was happy for DA-linked CEO to receive half million bonus

Mike Hampton Posted on 7th Jul 2020 by mikehampton7th Jul 2020

The CEO of WESGRO, an ex-DA politician called Tim Harris, has received a 20% increase and a 20% bonus. That means an extra R927,000, paid by the taxpayers. He will earn R3.1-million, more than the President. MEC Finance David Maynier, ranked #4 on the DA’s provincial list, knew about this, and approved WESGRO’s budget, which included an overall 30% increase for the organisation. At this point, I request that you insert your thoughts about our economic situation during covid-19. If you’re a member of our collapsed tourist industry, it will … Read the full article…

Complaint to Public Protector against Premier Winde for illegally interfering

Mike Hampton Posted on 6th Jul 2020 by mikehampton6th Jul 2020

The Democratic Alliance has been interfering in towns in the Southern Cape for their political benefit. The conflict of interest of MEC Anton Bredell, who doubles as the DA’s Western Cape Chairperson, has been well reported on this website. The GOOD party has already laid a complaint against him, with the national office of the Public Protector. They’ve now added Premier Alan Winde. Yesterday, 5 July 2020, Brett Herron, Western Cape MPL and Secretary-General of GOOD, released the following statement. PREMIER ALAN WINDE ADDED TO PUBLIC PROTECTOR COMPLAINT ON DA … Read the full article…

Cape school principal’s emotional and logical appeal to close schools

Mike Hampton Posted on 4th Jul 2020 by mikehampton4th Jul 2020

This letter is essential coronavirus reading whilst over 300 Western Cape schools are closed, several due to community protesting! Envil Wertheim, a Mitchell’s Plain principal, exposes the double standards between poor and rich students. He explains in great detail why poor schools, such as his, are not coronavirus ready. His criticism for the Western Cape Education Department and MEC Debbie Schafer is scathing. “Learners back at schools is not working! My name is Envil Wertheim. I am the principal of Aloe High School, a school in Mitchell’s Plain. We are … Read the full article…

“MEC Anton Bredell has created a untenable situation for himself – he has been secretly recorded proposing a political solution for the administration of Oudtshoorn, acting in his party’s interests instead of the interests of the town.” – Statement by Brett Herron, the GOOD Party’s Secretary General and Member of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament. Manufactured Maimane voted ANC & COPE

Mike Hampton Posted on 27th Oct 2019 by mikehampton27th Oct 2019
Mmusi Maimane hypocrite

“Mmusi Maimane voted ANC in 1999 and 2004 and was quite happy with Mbeki, despite the fact that the latter’s Aids denialism cost the lives of some 365,000 black people. In 2009 he voted for COPE. So it wasn’t until 2014 that he voted DA nationally. Three weeks later he became the party’s parliamentary leader, a quite absurd promotion. He was an incongruous leader, vocally rejecting the theory of evolution and thus the whole Enlightenment tradition, arguing for demographic representivity and for making race central to the DA’s notion of … Read the full article…

Where He Will Leave His Shoes?

Mike Hampton Posted on 4th Jul 2019 by mikehampton4th Jul 2019
Where will he leave his shoes-Karen Jayes short story South Africa

‘Where He Will Leave His Shoes?’ is a South African short story observing conscious and unconscious racism and sensuality via the master/servant relationship. It won writer Karen Jayes the 2009 PEN/Studzinski Award and admiration from writers such as JM Coetzee. That inspired her first novel, the Sunday Times Literary Prize winning ‘The Mercy of Water’. So grab some hot coffee and get back into bed so that you fully appreciate this masterpiece. ‘My husband likes the sheets tucked in, so that when he gets into bed, it’s like slipping into … Read the full article…

2yrs later, DA still blowing smoke about Great Knysna Fire

Great Knysna Fire Democratic Alliance corruption - photo by Mike Hampton

It feels impossible that yesterday marked the second anniversary of the Great Knysna Fire. It feels like it happened only months ago. The smoke remains in my nose and the cruelty of Government still invades my mind. Most of us weren’t helped by Government. There was no temporary shelter on a school sports field. The tents were stolen before we saw them. And local law enforcement used official vehicles to rob the donations centre of other goods. There’s been no accountability for donations to the Knysna Municipality. And companies lied … Read the full article…
