Democratic Alliance D-Day in Knysna
Today, the Deurmekaar Alliance announces their candidates for the 2016 Municipal Elections. So much has gone wrong the past 5 years yet no one was held accountable. If you live here, you will know what i mean.
It would seem that DA politicians, like many other politicians around our country, are above the law.
Instead of the transparency we were promised last elections, we got cover-up.
Instead of open doors, we got blockade.
Instead of truth, we got cover-up.
The Democratic Alliance can get away with most of their wrongs if they replace their rotten apples today.
Although we need half the council to go, politics is unlikely to work that way. Instead, one splinter group within the DA may beat another splinter group. Nevertheless, we have a chance of partial success.
I’m also hoping that two new DA applicants, one announced, the other kept secret, will also fail to run for office. Their exposed role in running anonymous Facebook and Twitter pages to defame me and protect the guilty has been one of the biggest stains on the DA.
This isn’t about voting for the DA or not voting for the DA. You can vote for whoever you want… but if you are going to vote for the DA then please vote for a BETTER DA than the one we’ve got!
Love Knysna, save Knysna by demanding accountability, responsibility and honesty.
Update: The DA’s Federal Executive Committee has postponed the approval and subsequent announcement of it’s candidates for the 2016 Municipal Elections. No reason has been given for the delay. No new date has been announced but one rumour is next week. Does anyone know when the ANC, EFF and ICOSA will announce? Will COPE still exist in Knysna?
