Peter Myers, Knysna’s Ward 10 DA Councillor, a member of the Mayoral Committee, has challenged me, Mike Hampton, community activist, to a debate.
His feathers, like the political flock he belongs to, seems to be ruffled by my submission of allegations of corruption and maladministration in Knysna. This would (shock/horror), also involve politicians dressed in blue.
On Knysna Knews, the DA’s propaganda website which is run anonymously (and thus cowardly), and on his personal page and the Ward 10 page, he has accused me, without evidence, of being a hypocrite and a liar. He suggests that I’m afraid to debate him (insert a big HA HA – regular readers will know that I’ve been blocked and banned by our government for years).
When you read on (check out the list at the bottom), you’ll understand that it makes no sense for me to ignore Myer’s history and my experience with him to suddenly dance to his twisted tune as the elections approach (he’s reapplied for his job).
However, I will gladly participate in a public debate on Love Knysna so long as all the main participants are involved i.e. Deputy Mayor Esme Edge, Advocate Julie Seton, Mayor Wolmarans, Speaker Eleonor Spies, Susan Campbell, and, of course, me. Peter Myers is then welcome as an extra.
They may outnumber me, may even have lawyers and underlings assisting them, but I’ll have the truth on my side.
Issues would have to be defined e.g. Knysna Tourism, ISDF, Communication and Propaganda, Municipal Manager appointment.
In the meanwhile, learn more about Peter Myers by googling him or putting his name in this website’s search bar.
On his Facebook, you’ll discover that he started off his New Year by talking about me to his supporters (thanks, Pete, I feel special).
Peter Myers is pretending that he’s got an original idea but he’s in fact stealing mine.
Peter, if you want to play ball, then let’s play on a full court. Are you game?
If you’re and your political mates aren’t, I will settle for permission being granted for me to do a presentation to the Knysna Council (after all, the reason why I had to go to Parliament is that I’ve been undemocratically blocked). That way, the public can attend too.
