I warned the DA in 2011
I predicted what the Democratic Alliance would do to me. I warned them that they’d make me more determined.
I just read what I blogged 8 years ago. If the DA had been honest then, I wouldn’t have become an activist… and I wouldn’t have uncovered much more dirt on them. Not dealing with me fairly, not handling the situation, was a strategic mistake by Helen Zille and the DA Federal Executive.
I was a frustrated citizen in 2011. I couldn’t understand why the DA, the good guys, weren’t helping with the corruption I’d uncovered. After all, Knysna Tourism, a private company, existed only because of the Public funds the DA was giving it. Accountability should’ve been an understandable requirement.
WARNED IN 2011
“Knysna needs to act for Knysna and not lily-white shenanigans… My blogging method has been controversial and I’ve been questioned regarding it. My answer is that I faced a brick wall and no answers! In a democracy, or when people having nothing to hide, that shouldn’t happen.
I have been questioned why I ‘dragged’ the DA into it. I did so because Mayor Georlene Wolmarans should have pursued Tourism to release the info.
In the street, I have twice being accused as being against my own kind (whites) which is simply ridiculous and smacks of petty racism in itself. The DA claims to be for all races.
All I’m pursuing is the Truth and a better Knysna. If the ANC or COPE were in power, I’d be doing the same. I’m not for any party, I simply want to be for Knysna. Political parties have their roles but the only time our roles coincide is if they believe, and pursue, a better Knysna for its People. I’m sick of cronyism and the new apartheid… I want it to be for All…
I have more planned as it’s bigger than Tourism. Undoubtedly, I’ll have tough times ahead as there will be people gunning for me. I didn’t commit to this action without the expectation of consequence. It’s likely that I will be defamed, sued and threatened. It will be practically impossible to do business. But any challenges will only be met with more determination by me.
Knysna needs change!”
STANDING
I may soon fall but I never expected to last this long. Every day is a victory against the oppression of corruption.
