South African singer, PIERRE OPPERMAN, has released Diary, a wonderfully mellow compilation of his emotions. It’s 10 acoustic rock tracks are the perfect soundtrack for sunrises and sunsets, lazy Sunday afternoons or for those wishing to unwind and leave the troubles of the world behind them. It’s a perfect representation of his idyllic hometown of Knysna which is located on the Garden Route of South Africa.
A highlight is the opening, bluesy track, ‘Slow Train’. Pierre’s voice soothes as a “cool wind takes the leaves for a ride”. ‘Slow Train’ was featured on London-based R&RWorld.com’s podcast and placed 3rd on their 10 hottest tracks for that week. You can download it for free here:

Other highlights include the warm shadows of ‘Quiet Place’, the uptempo, ‘Desert Light’, the half-spoken, storytelling ‘Motion’, and ‘Runaway’. The latter was the most-voted for song in the first week of February 2011 on Florida’s (USA) I-station, Pirate Radio‘s Music Treasure Hunt.
