Whether it’s a deliberate dig at Greg Vogt, the ex-manager of the Knysna Elephant Park whose become the CEO of Knysna Tourism (KT), or a reminder to KT that they’ve been a long-standing member slighted by the organisation before being allowed to give their side of the alleged elephant abuse story, i had to laugh when i saw these pot plants.

The pot plants are a wonderful initiative called ‘Knysna in Bloom’ that is undertaken by the Gossip Girls to brighten Knysna’s sidewalks and enforce the slogan of “Naturally Knysna”. They are sponsored by local businesses, organisations and individuals.

Knysna Elephant Park (KEP) has sponsored two, one under their name and another under AERU (their research unit)… and planted’ both at the entrance to Knysna Tourism’s offices.

For those of you aware of the tension between Knysna Tourism and myself, or between KEP and Greg Vogt, you will understand why a good chuckle was what the doctor would have ordered.
