DA Councillor Richard Dawson

Richard Dawson has dropped his High Court pursuit of an interim order against me, Mike Hampton.

Dawson was a Democratic Alliance (DA) politician, the ex-Speaker for Knysna and a director on the controversial Knysna Tourism Board which i alleged abused public funds.

I’m pleased that another case has been put to rest. However, there are more cases against me involving those connected to the Knysna DA, Knysna Municipality and Knysna Tourism. I expect to be in court for years. Such, in my experience, is the nature of South African politics.

There’d be far less need for activist and court-clogging cases if government enforced transparency and open doors.
