Ex-Knysna councillor guilty of assassination!
GUILTY OF ASSASSINATION
Three men have been found guilty of the political assassination of Knysna ANC Chief Whip Victor Molosi. The charges were murder, conspiracy and possession of an unlicensed gun. The mastermind of the killing was ex-Councillor Velile Waxa, then the DA’s coalition partner. Vela Dumile, from Cape Town, and former Knysna municipal official Mawande Makhala, were his accomplices.
Ours is a cruel and strange world, especially when it comes to politics. I’ve experienced too many bad things to like any politician in Knysna but this murder affected me deeply. I went out on a limb to write the first critical article. It took enormous self control to not yell “GUILTY!” then. There were several of us who were certain that we knew who was responsible yet held our tongues for over a year as justice took a slow walk in between protests and tear gas outside the Knysna Magistrates’ Court.

POWER OF THE PEOPLE
I don’t get jealous but came close to it as I observed the tremendous support Victor Molosi received. I admired the continuous and heartfelt outrage the community of Knysna gave to his memory in pursuit of justice. It was a rare moment of unity – blacks, coloureds and whites stood together. There’s hope for South Africa.
Local ANC leaders are to be applauded for the effort they made to keep the crowd of pain in control. It would’ve been a difficult job.
Although they chose not to take credit, new party KIM must be noted for the endless food they delivered to the many people attending the seemingly endless and lengthy court dates – they made a difference on a daily basis.
Most importantly, the Powerful were reminded that We the People matter. Remember this, and keep fighting for what is right! As a community, we’ve many struggles ahead. The war for ourselves continues…
WHO FUNDED WAXA?

Velile Waxa’s attorney, Daan Dercksen, scratches his head outside the Knysna Magistrates Court
The next battle must be to expose who funded convicted murderer Velile Waxa’s expensive defence, even going to High Court in attempt to prevent a by-election whilst he was in jail.
The rumour is that it’s tied to property developers. If that’s true, the implications would be enormous.
A few of of us have long defended Knysna against the political and corporate forces wishing to illegally control our town. Doing so made the DA our enemy for they’re accomplices of some of the nefarious property developers involved. And it cannot be ignored that the DA long refused to act against Waxa whilst he was involved in other crimes.
From the bottom of my heart, and in the name of morality, fuck them all!

JUSTICE FINALLY PREVAILS
A GOOD DAY FOR THE GOOD GUYS
Victor Molosi’s killers have been convicted and sentenced to life in prison plus 5 years. Now, the Molosi family and the people of Knysna can start to heal from a political murder that shocked our community.
We salute the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Barnard Wilson, who left no stone unturned to ensure that the perpetrators were brought to justice.
The prosecutor, Advocate Heyns, never gave up when a hostile witness almost derailed the case. He fought to the end and his brilliant cross-examination snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.
Justice Henney restored faith in our judicial system.
We owe a debt of gratitude to all witnesses who came forward to give evidence.
The lesson learnt from this tragic event is that when people cooperate with the police and prosecutors nobody will get away with murder.
