Fun at Jaap se Baai, Knysna
It was ironic that Dee, one of our volunteers who only moved to Knysna in January, was the one to introduce us to one of the most beautiful places in Knysna, Jaap se Baai at Brenton-On-Sea. Along with that picaresque walk from Brenton-on-Lake to Featherbed, this is Knysna’s best kept secret.
4 kids from Judah Square joined us that super sunny day. Isis, Michael, Jahovan and True had a whale of a good time exploring circular rock formations, ‘sinkholes’ and caves. Finding a bird’s egg, 4-5 metres up a cave wall, was a highlight for them (it remained untouched). On the beach, a dead bird became an experiment in biology and fascination. A seal turned up approximately 20m off shore.
