Helen Zille, this is my invitation to you, please accept
I’ve sent another invitation to DA boss, Helen Zille.
Long-term readers may recall that Zille previously threatened to sue me. After I suggested that discussion was the better option and emailed her a list of corruption topics, she refused to meet.
Despite that, and having met me twice before, it’s odd that she pretended not to know me. If I’m the conspiracy theorist she claims I am, then why would she not, point-by-point, clearly refute the evidence. If she wanted to discredit me, all she has to do is prove me wrong instead of promoting the politicians implicated in Government-procured investigations. Resorting to name-calling belongs on a child’s playground and not in leadership that has left destruction in its wake.
If the DA was moral 100% of the time, I would support the DA.
COMPROMISE SUCKS… BUT I’LL DO IT
I’m willing to compromise so that something is gained instead of everything continuing to deteriorate. Either she’s practically strategic, choosing the cable car, or she’s going to continue her habit of throwing the DA’s future off Table Mountain.
We do not rule our towns, Cape Town does. The vast corruption I’ve exposed for a decade only continues because it is allowed or ordered by Zille and her highest staff.
I must accept that it’s unlikely that the bigwigs will go to jail. The truth of Politics is not what we’re sold on TV. The ANC, EFF, VF+ and ACDP have been happy to give the DA repeated get-out-of-jail-free cards. It’s a buddy-buddy system that we, the People, are excluded from, and are expected to serve silently.
But I’m a citizen of South Africa! I’m not a slave. None of us should be when the death of our fellow citizens and the misuse of hundreds of millions of our rands happened on our watch. The Government works for us. We’re supposed to be its oversight committee.
At best, the DA pays a fine, gets rid of a bunch of low-level lackeys, and sends a sacrificial wolf into retirement. At worst, they continue their misdeeds, further ruining our lives and their party’s future.
Helen Zille, accept my invitation.
THE INVITATION
Subject: | Helen Zille, my door remains open to discussion |

From: | Mike Hampton <mike@loveknysna.com> |

Helen Zille, my door is open to you. Let’s end this, improve lives and move on. You could be positive and send an email today. Then Dion George or Natasha Mazzone could act as an intermediary to test my sincerity, and I yours. I’d need his or her landline number and a time.
You may get votes from bias or fear but no one trusts the DA leadership anymore. You were once revered as saints, now you’re just seen as another political party, the proverbial choice between the frying pan and the fire. As an example of how that was unnecessary, imagine how different things would be if you’d acted on my complaint nine years ago.
Your nastiness towards me is impractical. Denying your mistakes in the Garden Route is going to cost the DA more votes in 2021. Today’s by-elections may be the indication of the proportional seats you will lose next year.
I’m recommending that you change tactics, cut your losses, take some punishment, do the right thing even if for the wrong reasons, and focus on a scandal-free 2021. We could accomplish a lot before you go on holiday. The DA will look bad for a while, and then you’ll move on. And, next time something goes wrong, you’ll hopefully listen to people like me, and maybe eventually look like the good guys again.
I’m prepared to die for my Constitutional rights and fellow citizens. You motivated that courage. You helped create the activist I am. Nevertheless, I would rather walk on a beach without a target on my back whilst knowing that we, especially Knysna and Oudtshoorn, have a shot at better governance.
I believe in opposition. South Africa needs politicians who will vigorously fight you in the Western Cape. Similarly, the DA is needed to fight in Gauteng. That’s check and balance, rough as hell but an essential part of democracy (which has unfortunately declined worldwide because of liberal arrogance and ideological vapidness which you were part of).
Note that I’ve never joined a political party, despite offers from many. If I have any future role, it would be to work with all and to always support the right side of a topic and never a political party. If the DA was moral 100% of the time, I would support the DA.
However, there’s a part of me that would prefer a quiet life writing books. Or at least some time away from the past decade that felt like a lifetime.
Consequently, my door is open to you if you make sincere effort to stem this corruption and make up for what you’ve done, including the removal of years from my life.
Your first gesture of productivity would be a press release against the intimidation I’ve suffered, announcing a disciplinary hearing. They may choose to accept their ejection from the party when you tell them that you are pursuing criminal charges against them, for their crimes and for their criminal defamation of the party.
I hope that your fellow staff encourage the acceptance of my offer. Misstepping results in an unreachable destination. Being logical delivers conclusion.
If you choose to delay, then I’ll step up my activism. That will include convincingly implicating the DA Federal Executive. Items were already scheduled in case I was arrested this past Monday.
It’s my pleasure serving the Western Cape. Please serve it with me.

Helen, you claim to have not read my book which is odd since it’s your version of the DA trying so hard to silence me. But let’s pretend you haven’t read it which would be a good thing because it was extremely rushed (owing to DA pressure). I’ve corrected grammar and, more importantly, added more links to evidence. Your free copy attached. Note that was only an introduction. This summary addresses more issues – https://themikehampton.com/easy-guide-anc-da-corruption-intimidation/
