Hunger Strike Day #26 – weight loss
The photos I post on Facebook at 6am are from the past. They’re not what’s happening now. On May 1, I took a photo of myself at Windhoek airport, meaning to begin my hunger strike against corruption then. The Namibian government implied I’d be deported if I wasn’t a good guest. I complied but got sick the same day, losing 5kg over the next two weeks. My protest began quietly on May 16. I lost another 5kg by May 31, the day I returned to South Africa. As I don’t have a scale, I don’t know how much more I’ve lost the past 10 days but I’m guessing another 3-4kg. These photos show that my double chin has vanished and my dimples diminished. Cyril Ramaphosa remains silent, supporting DA corruption, so I’ve obviously got more to lose. I ran out of fruit juice 2 days ago, so I expect it will get quicker. Yeah, yeah, I know some of you couch potatoes are jealous 🙂
