Knysna Kart Grand Prix 2012
Kart racing is often called the Formula One nursery. Drivers such as Michael Schumacher and almost every Formula 1 driver started their driving careers in Karting. It is fast, fun, challenging and very exciting to watch.
The Knysna Kart Grand Prix is unique in South Africa with its “Singapore Grand Prix” atmosphere, night racing with floodlights and forms part of the 2012 EP Regional Karting Championship, yachts in the Knysna lagoon as your backdrop and restaurants alongside the track. There is always plenty to eat and drink while enjoying the action.
The speed of these little rockets on tiny wheels is quite awesome, and drivers range in age from 5 to 55. Competition is fierce and the racing is on the edge with wheel to wheel battles being the order of the day. Spectators have an excellent view of the track and excitement comes free!
The practice takes place on Friday 11th May and racing on Saturday 12th May. The venue is Thesen Island with the Knysna Estuary as its beautiful backdrop. There is full program and plenty to watch and enjoy.
