Getting Over Knysna Political Stupidity
Oh bugger, 12hrs of witnessing the sad state of our politics… more exhausting and depressing than it’s entertaining…
The image above is dedicated to the political stupidity of the Knysna ACDP (especially Schalk van der Merwe) and the Knysna Ubuntu Party.
It’s also dedicated to all blind supporters of any political party. Bias ain’t love for the future!
I was desperately hoping that the smaller parties would give the DA a challenge but some are so ensnared in prejudice and disinformation that they need to be regarded as irrelevant (for the sake of our town’s safety).
Yesterday was an example of the ACDP and Ubuntu needing to learn how to accept criticism, a foundation of any free country. More importantly, they must choose to be transparent if they’re to serve the public honestly.
Looking at the bigger picture, no matter who wins, Knysna is going to remain in controversy and other kinds of mud. We have tough times ahead. The Municipality’s going to remain a battle ground. I feel so sorry for those municipal staff who are unfairly suffering because of power plays they have little control over.
- We have to get to the stage where we can admit when we’re wrong and make up for it.
- We have to get to the stage where we have zero tolerance for those with hidden agendas.
- We have to be strong enough to first stand against corruption before protecting political party image.
- For the sake of our future, we need to be less stupid.
If any of us are left after that, we have to work together. If we don’t, life in Knysna is guaranteed to get worse for most of us.
