Contrary to our popular belief, DA-controlled Knysna is not one of the best municipalities in South Africa, not even in the Western Cape.

That’s according to Good Governance Africa which ranks Knysna at only #22 out of #25 municipalities provincially, and 48 out of 234 nationally.

5 out of the 6 Western Cape municipalities run by the ANC are higher than us.

Of course, facts mustn’t be taken at face value. I’ve asked Mayor Eleonore Bouw-Spies (ex-Speaker) and Speaker Georlene Wolmarans (ex-Mayor) to provide us feedback.

NB: I don’t support the ANC. I support a better, stronger, transparent, more honest, thinking Knysna. Love Knysna, Save Knysna!
