Love Knysna Projects Made a Difference in 2013
2013 was meant to be a test year for our voluntary association but became so much more. This is what we achieved:
- Built Love Knysna Projects website.
- Built Judah Square website.
- Copywriting and SEOing for Judah Square.
- Designed Judah Square logo.
- Kids trip to Knysna Elephant Park.
- Kids trip to Jaap se Baai.
- Kids trip to Just Jinjer concert.
- Kids pool party and braai in Hunter’s Home.
- We kept www.KnysnaSchools.co.za updated.
- We connected Aki von Glasow to Judah Square. He lived with our friendly Rastas for weeks, giving them free BSR treatment.
- Designed cartoon characters representing Knysna i.e. Sam the Seahorse, Larry the Loerie, Ellie the Elephant and Blue the Butterfly.
- Hosted the SAMSA Sea Pledge breakfast presentation to businessmen at the Knysna Yacht Club.
- Hosted the SAMSA Sea Pledge presentation to children at the Sea Cadets hall with lunch and trip to Coney Glen and Lookout View.
- Kids trip to Bollard Bay for hike and picnic.
- Teens treated to breakfast at 34 South.
- Kids trip to Jukani, Birds of Eden and Monkeyland.
- Kids trip to Simola Dog Show and lunch at Fishbone.
- Over R10 000 in clothes and cupcakes given away.
- Census of Judah Square community.
- Teens sent for pampering at Pezula Spa.
- 4 teens wrote their first blogs.
- Sponsored fees for Julie, a Concordia High student, to go on a tour to Cape Town.
- Sponsored fees for Yolanda, a Concordia High student, to get her passport and go for an interview as an au pair in Cape Town.
- Kids trip to Jubilee Creek for a hike, picnic and a party with presents that had 10-year old Nadine named as Child of the Year.
All that because locals such as you gave some of their time to making children’s lives in Knysna better. And the volunteers enjoyed themselves too. They got to meet new people, see new places and create smiles.
We always need sandwiches, transport etc. Consider helping us in 2014.
