Over 12 000 people have seen the Stop the Salary Increase post on Love Knysna’s Facebook. Over 150 have Liked and a similar amount has signed the petition. If you were afraid to join the petition and stick out like a sore thumb, now you don’t have to worry because you’ll be keeping good company – please, please share.
Maybe, most importantly, 19 people have confirmed their attendance for a community meeting to discuss our town’s challenges (from the ISDF and Knysna Tourism to crime and whatever else you want to bring up) and if there is a way they can help sort it. I have met with 17 of those people individually so it’s been a busy couple of days, to say the least. More want to come but just have to check the date and time on their calendars first. Thank you for your input and support. I hope that we can turn words into real action that benefits us all.
To the politicians who I know regularly read my posts and blogs, please note that it’s not too late to start interacting with the community of Knysna. I’m sure that I speak for most when I say that Knysna’s citizens welcome dialogue, instead of conflict, with our local politicians and the Knysna Municipality – but it must be followed by prompt action and not fake promises. We just want you to accept that you are in Office to provide us service. For that, you should love us. And, if you did, we’d love you in return.
