Mayor Spies’ Open Day: Topic Budget 2017/2018
OPEN DAY: Knysna Executive Mayor Eleanore Bouw-Spies will host her second Open Thursday under the theme, “Our 2017/2018 Budget”, on May 11, between 17:00 and 19:30 at the Municipal Main Building, Clyde Street, Knysna.
“I am looking forward to meeting and chatting to our residents and am certain that this month’s theme is very relevant as we are currently busy with the public participation process of the Draft Budget. This Open Thursday will offer a great opportunity for residents who could not attend our public meetings, to receive clarity on specific issues and/or offer comments relating to the Draft Budget,” said the mayor.
“I encourage the all Greater Knysna residents to submit their queries prior to attending the session in order to receive succinct responses to their queries on the night. Comments and queries must be sent to customer@knysna.gov.za.
“Municipal officials from our Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and Finance Departments will be on hand to assist with any questions our residents may have”, concluded Bouw-Spies.
Following the example set by Western Cape MEC Alan Winde, Minister of Economic Opportunities in making his office more accessible, the Mayoral Office launched Open Thursdays in February 2017. The March Open Thursday was cancelled due to the mayor undergoing a minor medical procedure.
