Café 9 is found in a pretty nook off Grey Street that includes Pure India and Nine On Gray (Hair and Beauty).

They’re now open on Sundays, from 10am until 2pm, which is when i stopped for breakfast last Sunday. R25 has been the magic breakfast number in Knysna lately. Meal constituents vary little but the main difference is whether or not coffee is included. Coffee was included here.

I returned as manageress, Leah (pronounced “Lee”), had encouraged me to try the quesadilla. The melted cheese, jalapeno and bacon filling is accompanied by cream and avo. It tastes delicious! At R28, it’s another Knysna, bargain.

Lucky for me, i had the unexpected bonus of conversation with lady strangers both times. Conversation is optional:)
