MEC Alan Winde: Help Knysna or destroy Mike?
Scandalous Councillor Dr Martin Young has proclaimed his excitement for a Democratic Alliance meeting that was held with MEC Alan Winde to solve Knysna’s problems.

Alan Winde – MEC for Finance, Economic Development & Tourism in Western Cape (made Premier 2020)
Young said that, “The excitement going forward is palpable.” Mayor Eleanore Spies, “I am extremely excited…thank you, team!”
I’m not alone in being sceptical. Knysna has seen too many undelivered political promises. And so long as a political party operates in secrecy, refusing the decency of public transparency, it’ll remain questionable.
Furthermore, the DA Federal Executive has received complaints from me, including copies of my many submissions to the Public Protector. If they were serious about solving Knysna’s problems then there’s no way that Young and Spies would be smiling. That makes me wonder if some of the session, or a side session, including the DA, figuring out how next to try to destroy me for exposing their corruption.
The meeting was laughable before it started because MEC Alan Winde was our constituency officer when I first brought the Knysna Tourism mess, a loss of millions, to him. He did nothing. In fact, he acted against the resolution.
Jaco Londt then took a turn as our Constituency officer. Londt also wouldn’t act. Londt must be considered complicit in the DA propaganda campaign that was run against me as he was aware of it but did nothing. And then Helen Zille, his boss, allowed Young, a key figure in that nastiness, to become a Councillor. Londt was removed after facing a disciplinary hearing over what we don’t know. As said, the DA operates from the shadows.
Now Winde, one of Zille’s insiders, is back.
Today’s Special Council Meeting has a secret session, what we refer to as “green papers”. After the leadership crisis which has turned directorships and municipal managers into offices of revolving doors, the Knysna Municipality has decided to hide today’s choosing of the Director of Planning and the Director of Finance. Each will be paid over a million rand annually – we have the right to know what’s happening.
It gives strength to the rumour that DA and ANC members have collaborated in order to try to stop one person getting the job. The DA, like the Council 2011-2016, has already split into factions. Expect 5 more years of nonsense to follow.
Acting Municipal Manager Johnny Douglas, Mayor Eleonore Spies and Speaker Georlene Wolmarans have chosen not to acknowledge my complaint against the secret meeting, and my request for it to be made open to the public.
I won’t trust the DA’s “excitement” until I see it cause I don’t know if it’s excitement for their self-serving selves or for the Knysna they’re supposed to be serving.
