DA criminals are pretending their corruption in my ‘Love Knysna Petition’ to Parliament doesn’t exist. I believe the motive for their attacks against me is fear. The Petition has spent 3 frustrating years in Parliament, suggesting ANC incompetency or that some ANC members are protecting the DA.
The Petition resulted in the Committee on Petitions & Executive Undertakings holding 3 hearings.
In Parliament, DA evasion continued. Then Mayor Georlene Wolmarans only appeared on the third date set for the first hearing, only after she was threatened with arrest. She spoke as little as possible, instead making Municipal Manager Grant Easton speak on their behalf. Back home, in a cover-up move, the DA pressed disciplinary charges against Easton. The charges hypocritically included some of the same issues they’d told Parliament was legal.
At the third hearing, new Mayor Eleanore Spies never appeared, lying that she was working on the Knysna budget. Her stupid excuse was made worse when I revealed she was 300km away from Knysna in Beaufort West, campaigning with DA Leader Mmusi Maimane. Was it his or her decision not to appear? Parliament has not held her to account for lying.
SABC3 news gave strong coverage to me presenting the issue of the DA’s favouritism to property developers. Witness Susan Campbell explained that local media freedom had been suppressed. Despite the power of that coverage, newspapers never reported on it! The DA is protected by corrupt media. A reporter from a non-aligned newspaper told me that it wasn’t about right or wrong but that they’d been instructed to avoid lawsuits.
The Committee Petitions & Executive Undertakings comprises a representative from each of SA’s provinces who vote on recommendations. In September 2017, the Committee recommended to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) that the National Office of the Public Protector investigate all my allegations, also why their Western Cape offices of the Public Protector had failed to do their job regarding my 13 complaints to them. There’s been no response as to why implicated DA members, such as Premier Helen Zille, have not being interviewed in 18 months.
The recommendations have been tabled by Parliament but NCOP Chair Thandi Modise (ANC) refuses to explain why it hasn’t been debated by the House for 8 months. It has to be debated before adoption. Her staff also refuse to explain why despite me providing them evidence that the delay has cost the Public millions more and disrupted a whole town.
If NCOP votes approval, the Office of the Public Protector has been given 60 days in which to respond to Parliament. However, I don’t want them to handle the investigation because they need to be investigated themselves. A joint task team would be more effective and hopefully less compromised. The President’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) could handle issues such as the DA’s crimes against me, condoned by national leadership, whilst COGTA could place the town under administration.Love Knysna Petition pg4 of NCOP tabling
