DA National leader Mmusi Maimane wants Helen Zille’s job as Premier of the Western Cape. The DA Federal Executive’s child has finally made a move to become a man. Clap, clap, CLAPPING!
The DA was supposed to announce their Premier candidate today but yesterday issued a statement that they were postponing. Their reason was that they wanted to announce the Cape Town Mayoral candidate the same time. As has happened so often, the DA has been caught out in a lie. They simply didn’t know how to react to Maimane’s internal bomb.
As predicted by the UDM’s Bantu Holomisa months ago, and then later confirmed by me, the Sunday Times reports that Alan Winde won yesterday’s race to be Premier candidate. That the DA is so predicable makes mockery out of those who campaign for positions that are never truly on offer. Interestingly, DA Western Cape Liar Bonginkosi Madikizela only came third – his selfish actions during the Knysna crisis have haunted him.
The Citizen newspaper reports that it isn’t a done deal and that Mmusi Maimane’s spokesperson, Portia Adams, said, “Yes, the DA Federal Leader, Mr Maimane, is discussing it. His key consideration is what is best for the DA and for the residents of the Western Cape. He is still considering the matter and is in extensive discussions with party structures.”
Those “party structures” will undoubtedly put pressure on him to to step back. If you’re a DA supporter, support Maimane so that your party has more chance of finding its feet. If you belong to another party, support Maimane so as to have a chance at the old guard of the DA being wobbled backwards.
