No, EFF, no.

This is a request for Knysna’s politicians to play nice ahead of the coming elections.

It was disappointing to see the EFF lie about the Knysna mosque situation to a Cape Town newspaper. “The EFF also claims the DA in Knysna has sided with residents who don’t want a Masjid built in their neighbourhood.”

The Knysna DA has in fact supported the mosque. It’s the residents who are opposing the DA for breaking municipal rules.

This isn’t support for the DA, it’s support for the truth. Please campaign cleanly. Let’s not create conflict where there isn’t any.

And don’t make Knysna part of national politicking. Knysna is not a political self-publicity tool. We have enough problems here to keep us busy full-time. Let’s focus on our town!
