Not only a gay win for Ireland, it’s a human win for the world
Ireland has become the first country to legalise same-sex marriage through a popular vote.
Considering that many of its citizens were brought up through Catholic schools, it’s a remarkable improvement for human rights. Wouldn’t it be cool if divisive Northern Ireland were next?
I love how one man summed up the moment with, “I have a 30-year-old gay daughter. In all her life, I have never heard her say she was proud to be Irish. Until today.”
