Official site for the revived Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe – the beloved steam train that once ran between Knysna and George, and which we plan to have puffing again as soon as possible. 

We’re planning to do this in stages:

• Repair and open the line between Knysna & Keytersnek Siding
• Introduce rolling stock and classic diesel locomotives (we’ll bring them to Knysna by road!)
• Restore the rolling stock
• Open ‘The Knysna Dinner Train’ 
• Open tourist services to Sedgefield
• Develop a steam train maintenance workshop at Sedgefield Station
• Introduce classic steam locomotives (we’ll bring them in by road, too!)
• Repair the line between Sedgefield and George
• Open more tourist services between Knysna, Sedgefield and George
• Open freight rail services between Knysna and George
