The Knysna Municipality has chain-locked the entry road to the Old Knysna Cemetery on the corner of Waterfront Drive and Main Road to discourage illegal parking on the premises.

Municipal Manager Lauren Waring said the cemetery remained open for visitation and was accessible on foot with some parking just outside the chain. “The chain can also be opened by pre-arrangement by contacting the Cemetery Supervisor on 044 384 1613 or 078 824 9654.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and hope this to be a temporary measurement,” said Waring.
