Political deals with the devil hurting taxpayers…

Why should my Knysna and Plettenberg Bay readers care about Oudtshoorn? Because we all fall under Eden District and the same big politicians who are suppose to be fighting for OUR rights have repeatedly shown THEIR true faces there.

Helen Zille has gone public with the accusation that the ANC has refused to hand over Oudtshoorn despite the DA having a majority. Drewan Baird’s blog explains why that’s hogwash and describes how the DA totally screwed up.

It must be noted that Baird gets work from the ANC-led municipality which makes me consider him biased but, nevertheless, he has access to tons of info and gets almost everything right in his latest blog. The DA put itself before the people they are suppose to serve and deliberately screwed Oudtshoorn.

What Baird left out is that the ANC has also deliberately screwed Oudtshoorn which is as lucky as Plettenberg Bay… which is to say that its citizens have no luck at all. They are, as i’ve said many times, just pawns in a political game.

The only person i’ve any respect for is Peter Roberts, the DA councillor whose facing a disciplinary hearing for doing the right thing – yep, that’s how ‘democratic’ politics is. I will give you more info about that soon enough but you can start with my previous blog, ‘Devil in the DA Deal’.

The only winners in Oudtshoorn are lawyers, advocates and Drewan Baird.
