Best news of the year for Knysna! It involves the ISDF, that crummy plan to control the future of Knysna for the next 30 years.

It was a 5-hr council meeting today. Susan Campbell, the activist was there for half of it. Before she left, she handed out copies of a provincial report that she obtained through the Public Protector, the report that Minister Anton Bredell wouldn’t give us for a year.

It’s damning. It’s proof that it was whitewashed and that the tender award needs to be shot down in flames.

Irony of ironies is that it was received on the same day Mayor Georlene Wolmarans announced Knysna’s clean audit (the annual audit i consider an absolute joke… involving people i consider to treat our town as their playground and not our home).

And, so funny, before they received the report, those who promoted the ISDF tender award were asking for more money for it i.e. asking for more money for those who should never have been awarded the tender.

The DA and several municipal staff screwed us. As i keep saying, elect a better DA or build independents.

I want to write a solid article about this and submit it for greater publication/or use it to try get other journalists to write about it. So i’m not going to tell you all about it now. It will take me days to get it right.

It’s essential that we draw attention to this and get national media involved. This is an opportunity to open the can of worms that is our leadership in Knysna. This is an opportunity to fix things. The future’s going to be tough no matter what we do but we can give it and us more of a chance if we fight for it. WE HAVE TO GET AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE TO READ ABOUT THE ISDF. They have to realise that it is the thirty year plan for our town and, consequently, a lot is at stake.
