I’m occasionally directed by loyal readers to where others have made comments about me.
Generally, they’re the trolling and deceptive kind, using insult, not fact. My response is to slam a comment section with evidence, using it as an opportunity to advertise the truth to people who may never have been on my page.
Occasionally, I find compliments or critiques that the author has preferred to make outside of my eye or, more precisely, away from my blog which may draw attention to them. I understand them not wanting the spotlight because my subscribers often get threatened by the DA.
Here’s one of those comments, by someone I don’t think I’ve met but whose name I recognised from my old Facebook page
PUBLIC COMMENT #1
“I live around the corner, and have followed Mike for several years. He is most definitely a controversial character, loved by come, hated by others, avoided by many – because, I believe, he speaks out about what he believes to be the truth.
Now we come to the crux of the matter: what does Mike speak about?
All of his activism (as far as I am aware) goes back to some dodgy stuff that went down concerning public money being spent to private gain via the accounts of the Knysna Tourism agency.
I have not been able to find any inconsistencies in Mike’s stories, nor have I found his “tactics” to be unacceptable or unethical, even.
On the other side of the coin, we have the Vested Interests, which he has dared to question. Whether he is right or wrong in his claims about their actual shenanigans, the methods that they have used to silence him and to hijack the narrative have been utterly reprehensible. Online character assassination, misquotes, direct attempts to smear him as a pedophile, threats of jail time, his motives (which I feel are quite clear and quite noble) being questioned by public speculation of the predictably awful and trumped-up kind.
The majority of the time these activities has been carried out by members of the DA or their well-known stooges/shills, although there have been instances of political functionaries of other persuasions involving themselves – but the money-trail is always easily discernible.
Mike, on the other hand, I have not seen trying to enrich himself at all… quite the opposite – he has placed everything on the line to so what he has done.
His website contains the entire history of the issue, and all of the contingent issues that have arisen along the way.
Yes, he gets a little hysterical at times. He gets quite vehement about significance that he attaches to certain things that may seem odd or questionable – but he does not, as far as I am aware, fabricate at all.
The dodged questions that he has posed alone tell their own story…”
