Screw Cape Town, Knysna Comes First!
SCREW CAPE TOWN, KNYSNA COMES FIRST!
Knysna’s politicians need to learn a BIG LESSON from the 2016 elections.
Thousands of the public were sufficiently dissatisfied to escape their previous bias for the major parties. They wanted better!
Take note that the DA (-1%), COPE (-1%) and ANC (-6%) were weaker this election compared to the last. The Knysna DA’s result was in stark contrast to its parent which grew 5% in the Western Cape and 5% nationally.
Cumulatively, the 8% of votes the DA, COPE and the ANCĀ lost in Knysna was found by smaller parties.
LOCAL ISSUES MATTER MOST
That education suggests that the public are more interested in local issues instead of the ideologies of political parties controlled by strangers in cities far away.
As a strong supporter of Knysna’s independence, i’m pleased that it seems that localism will have to be embraced by our politicians if they want to grow in 2021.
Love Knysna by putting Knysna first! Love Knysna bravely!
