Slow Festival Outstanding Community Member Award
The Sedgefield Slow Festival has, since its inception, strived to help several charities and charitable causes. Last year, the Slow Festival Committee decided it was time to honour the unsung heroes who make a difference to Sedgefield and its community, those who consistently work with open hearts and open hands for the good of others. In so doing, they launched the Slow Festival Outstanding Community Member Award (OCM for short) for both ladies and gents.
For the second year running, the Slow Festival would like to honour and thank those individuals who are quietly making a difference in their corner of the Sedgefield area, people using their own resources to help uplift or help the people around them.
“We are not looking for large service organisations with budgets, but for ‘normal’ people who not only talk about community upliftment, but who go out and do something” said Slow Fest committee member Riana Hanekom. “We will once again be awarding the Outstanding Community Member, or OCM award, to both one lady and one gent.”
All nominations are welcome. Email a short motivation and the contact details of yourself and your nominee to merchandising@slowfestival.co.za, or fax to 086 549 5141, before 1st April 2015.
Voting for OCM lady and gent can be done during the Slow Festival (3-5 April) at the Slow Festival Information Gazebo on the Village Green before 17h00 on Saturday 4th April. The award ceremony will take place on the Village Green after the parade on Sunday 5th April on the Village Green.
