Horoscope: “You’re an activist. You’re rebelliously stubborn. If you were an arsehole, you’d stop shitting just to spite other arseholes.”
Activist: “Helen Zille, I will never let this go! Your corruption must not grow!”
Year 2020: “Bring it on!”
I gave 10 years to fighting corruption. Unfortunately, no one stood with me in a meaningful way. South Africa is broken. Maybe, in a different way, I am too. But I don’t regret having represented what I believe in. The best lesson I learned was minimalism. Most material things don’t matter. I would like to own a small fridge but there’s no need for a car or a big TV. I’ve handled 6-months of lockdown well. I’ve spent so much time alone, much longer than that, that I don’t need … Read the full article…
The cowardice and apathy of my corrupt town hurts. If Hitler dropped bombs on us, we’d send Whatsapps saying, “I love the sound as they fall from the sky?” Tomorrow, I’ll be publishing an important sequel to the ‘Plot Against Knysna?’. As feared, the situation has deteriorated. There are more villains involved, on both sides. There are so many needing punishing but some must be pushed to the front of the queue. Thursday is D-Day for us – the takeover of Knysna is scheduled. The DA and their puppets are … Read the full article…
This is about people who give a shit, and the Democratic Alliance (DA) which doesn’t. It’s an update on the court actions against me. It’s a nod to the coronavirus. It’s even more about what I want and don’t want from you. That, for sure, is a two-way street – what do you want from me? DAY #74 OF COVID FOR ME This is Day #74 of my isolation. I haven’t had a visitor or a suntan, but received medicine once, and groceries twice. For the first time, I’ve got … Read the full article…
2019 has been another year of DA failure. Like our country’s broken education system, the DA keeps getting pushed to the next grade despite being morally and democratically illiterate. The system ensures that it can only look more stupid as time passes. The DA keeps company with Mawande Makhala, the literally illiterate Senior Clerk at Knysna Municipality who was one of the three men found guilty for the assassination of Councillor Victor Molosi. Makhala, who can’t read, was a municipal official from 2005 to 2019. That’s easier to swallow than … Read the full article…
I’m the elephant on the cover of ‘Waiting for Miracles’, an album by The Flower Kings. I balance precariously atop a house of playing cards whilst trying to keep my eye on the time of the watch that dangles before one eye. At any moment, an orange could fall from the tree and bump a card, knocking me to the ground. That’s what its like being an Activist against the odds, passionately focusing on a goal whilst random misfortune could unravel me. Because I don’t have much, everyday small things … Read the full article…
