Oudtshoorn corruption submission to Auditor General

Oudtshoorn corruption dead ostrich

I reported this Oudtshoorn corruption to the Auditor General on 5 August 2020. It involves Mayor Chris McPherson & MEC Local Government Anton Bredell. Both are members of the Democratic Alliance. It was acknowledged by Advocate Ryno De Water (Senior Manager: Investigations Business Unit), ccied to Michael Harmse (Manager: Investigations Business Unit). I was informed that there is an open case on Oudtshoorn. In my previous post concerning Knysna corruption, I stated that dead birds don’t fly. However, in Oudtshoorn there are also living birds that don’t fly. This year’s … Read the full article…

Complaint to MEC Anton Bredell regarding his corruption letter to Knysna

MEC Anton Bredell, so there’s check and balance, I’m CCing your right-hand man, Graham Paulse, and Melanie Joffee, Senior Manager with the Western Cape Auditor General’s office. I’ll ask her two important questions near the end. In the interests of justice, I’ll ask you many. I refer to your letters to Knysna regarding alleged fraud, maladministration and corruption. They were dated 30 April and 23 June 2020. Was your intention for them to fail? Accountability: “The state of being answerable; responsibility for the fulfilment of obligations; liability to account for … Read the full article…

Alarming decline in Western Cape municipal clean audits

Mike Hampton Posted on 27th Jun 2019 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020
dirty clean audits western cape local government municipalities 2017-2018

The Auditor General has added its nail to the coffin of South Africa. As much as every failed local government should be thrown on hot coals, I’m most interested in the Western Cape.   CLEAN AUDITS NOT SO CLEAN Yes, the Western Cape got more clean audits than others but the main fact should be that there was an alarming decline.   Whereas 24 out of 30 municipalities received clean audits for 2016/2017, only 12 received that status for 2017/2018 (the results are released one year later i.e. now).   … Read the full article…

The DA participated in tender fraud

Mike Hampton Posted on 2nd Sep 2018 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020
Democratic Alliance DA tender fraud

The Democratic Alliance (DA) participated in tender fraud in Knysna that was rumoured to mostly benefit local white businesses. No one has been held accountable. Both the DA leadership and Western Cape Government have failed to act which must make one wonder where else this is happening in the province, if it’s supported until caught. The Auditor General questioned tenders in Knysna. in one year alone, several were linked to R9-million in irregular tenders due to a “bonus” to local suppliers that circumnavigated BBBEE i.e. a tenderer who did not … Read the full article…

The Actions I Requested from Parliament for Knysna

Mike Hampton Posted on 29th May 2017 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

These are the actions i requested from Parliament for the protection of Knysna and myself. Don’t get bored of this continuing story! Support the few of us who have worked so hard for Knysna. Don’t become a victim to a short attention span. This may be my instigation but it’s for your better lives as much as mine. You must keep this story alive! Make it grow. Ask yourself, why does the Democratic Alliance refuse to debate or meet me? Is that the response of the innocent or guilty? My … Read the full article…
