Sunny Hike on Leisure Isle

It had been 22 months since we’d taken kids to Leisure Isle in Knysna so it was high time we returned to its magnificent Bollard Bay Beach and Kingfisher Creek. There were 18 kids and 8 of us adults. Tragedy: 3 Kids Drown off Leisure Isle in Knysna

Heartbreaking beginning to the holiday season in Knysna as 3 children drown off Leisure Isle, an island in the Knysna Estuary. Originally, reports conflicted, varying between children, teenagers and young women. Apparently 4 people tried to cross the Knysna Estuary at low tide in the vicinity of Cearn Drive

Off to the Beach on Leisure Island

Love Knysna Projects popped around again to take over a dozen kids to join others on Leisure Isle for a hike and a picnic. Leisure Isle is one of the richer suburbs in Knysna and boasts beautiful walking trails and an amazing beach called Bollard Bay. The kids had a lot of fun with balloons, a lucky draw and a canoe. Eat & Smile #1: Bollard Bay Picnic

There was already a festive atmosphere when we joined the main group on Bollard Bay after hiking approximately 2.5km from the other side of Leisure Isle.
