Covid-19 deniers, its now the 5th biggest killer in the USA

This is a message to Covid-19 denialists, and a safety emphasis to all. There are real conspiracies. Fight those. Don’t use covid-19 to invent them. Because many big corporates and politicians are unkind, doesn’t mean we have to be unkind. Not wearing a mask isn’t a protest for freedom, it’s selfish. I created this infographic to remind us what’s at stake. I may criticise Cyril Ramaphosa but I’m glad that he’s not the mass murderer, Donald Trump.

Covid-19 5th biggest cause of death in USA only halfway through year

Bonginkosi Madikizela, skip the luxury car, take a coronavirus taxi

DA Western Cape Leader Bonginkosi Madikizela should travel to work via taxiYesterday, the SABC reported that Western Cape Democratic Alliance Leader and MEC Transport “Bonginkosi Madikizela says it is time that people are allowed to go back to work without any further restrictions. He was reacting to a decision by taxi operators to load passengers to full capacity which is in breach of current lockdown regulations.”

I wonder if Madikizela wasn’t in the DA (the opposition to the ANC), wasn’t MEC Transport, and if he and his family travelled to work via taxi, would he take the same position? Why should we trust the motives of politicians, especially him, when they’ve lied to us so many times?

Covid-19 Update: Half a million dead, 10 million infections

COVID-19 Coronavirus update 28 June 2020

One line above urges me to say more:   Besides the terrible statistics, a benefit of covid-19 was minks getting infected in the Netherlands. It horrifies me to imagine them culling 800,000 minks – how much blood is that? But by speeding up the closure of mink farms, whose purpose is to make expensive coats (approx 45 minks make 1 coat), 2,400,000 won’t be bred to die. Cynically, Poland or China may try absorb that market, but the supply chain from the Netherlands is disrupted. This is #Day 8 of … Read the full article…

Graph shows South Africa’s coronavirus cases climbing quickly

Covid-19 South Africa update 26 June 2020

Deathly Reminder: It’s says a lot about human nature that what was happening in the USA and Europe a month ago was daily news, but as the coronavirus spreads southwards, it’s almost forgotten. Mexico’s deaths are an alarming 25,060, and they’re adding approximately 900 per day. Our South African dead may ‘only’ be 2,294 but that’s more than a 400% increase the past month. After Brazil was where we are now, it took them one month to reach 17,000 dead, and another month to get to where they are now, … Read the full article…

South African Tourism closed until 2021!

South African Tourism closed - Saved Knysna

I was a strong supporter of the initial lockdown but this is insane. Approximately 7-million people would be affected. 9% of GDP. Towns such as Knysna would cease to exist. You may as well plant trees on the N2 and call it quits. Why would Government make such an insane statement during a period of obvious uncertainty? What’s the purpose of not shutting up when you don’t have the facts to make a decision? This is bound to give legs to conspiracy and the damn electioneering DA valid argument. If … Read the full article…

Update 5 June 2020: Coronavirus & CoViD-19 statistics

You may not realise it because the Media’s gotten tired, and so have you, but new cases of covid-19 are breaking daily global records. Our local lockdown has to end but, thereafter, if you don’t play safe, you may kill the people you love. Please skip the conspiracy theories and focus on how easy it is for you to be considerate. If you wash your hands 20 times a day, it’ll only have taken up 10 minutes which is longer than you spend drinking and smoking. I sincerely hope you’re having sex with your current lockdown partner for longer than that, and a perfect explanation for why your kids are facing the kitchen wall with their hands over their ears 🙂 Seriously, be careful. I’m thanking you in advance.
