Whilst world gets bored, COVID-19 at record high

Whilst the world gets bored, COVID-19 has reached a record high. There have been 365,880 positive tests in the past 3 days. Over 3,000 people died in Brazil during the same period. The sum total of deaths in Brazil was 178 only 2 months ago. This is a reminder to be cautious because the situation will worsen in our South Africa where, yesterday, there were 32 deaths. Visit the predictions I made 31 days ago. I add that the USA’s current lower figure of, on average, 1000 daily deaths, isn’t a victory or reason to relax – those figures will grow.

Hydroxychloroquine kills CoViD-19 patients

Mike Hampton Posted on 23rd May 2020 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020
Hydroxychloroquine

Are the deaths of COVID-19 patients in President Donald Trump’s small hands? Is he taking the anti-malaria drug, hydroxychloroquine, or was it ‘just’ another selfish attempt to distract from his failures which have become too numerous to count? HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE FAILURE To properly test a possible cure, a study must include placebos. However, so soon into the crisis, that’s been impossible. However, the esteemed Lancet medical journal has published the results of an observational study of hydroxychloroquine used on 96,000 COVID-19 patients on 6 continents. The result was that more patients … Read the full article…

Predicting Covid-19 destruction during May 2020

Mike Hampton Posted on 30th Apr 2020 by mikehampton1st May 2020
covid-19 prediction

Today is April 30 in Our Year of CoViD-19. This is my coronavirus prediction of what will happen worldwide, mostly over the next month. Considering that psychics scientist have made fools of themselves, this is surely foolish endeavour. I could have emailed it to myself, and only shown it later if I was correct. But if I was wrong, I’d have known that I was a self-righteous coward seeking attention (even though my readership is akin to a tadpole in the Three Gorges Dam). Nevertheless, on 19 February 2019, I … Read the full article…

President Ramaphosa, come clean about CoViD-19

Mike Hampton Posted on 21st Apr 2020 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020
covid-19

I fear CoViD-19 is being mishandled in South Africa, the statistics understated and the lockdown wasted. Scarily, victims in KZN will not be allowed to self-isolate – the Government will take them away to a mass quarantine facility. As the province with the most dead, there’s suspiciously a lack of news after outbreaks. The KZN Health Department has radically decided to stop naming infected hospitals, which removes the Constitutional rights of patients to choose the hospital safest for them. It doesn’t seem coincidental that this new approach happened after a … Read the full article…

Coronavirus Amplified: Interruption for Hamburgers & Lizards

Mike Hampton Posted on 14th Apr 2020 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

In the Year of Our COVID, we’re making ashes with the bones of ourselves. I interrupt my coronavirus info blog series to share frustrated opinion about hamburger fatties and green lizards… THE LIZARDS I’m not an economist. I don’t understand most of the figures they flash on TV as ‘proof’ of what’s up/what’s down. However, it’s impossible for the financial industry (whose job it is to be profitable) to be profitable all the time. We must constantly remind ourselves that the only way they can do their job is to … Read the full article…

Coronavirus Amplified: Part 1 – Defining Coronaviruses, SARS-CoV-2 & Covid-19

Mike Hampton Posted on 12th Apr 2020 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020
definition - coronavirus sars-cov-2 structure - image CC

Do you know what SARS-CoV-2 is? What about COVID-19? It’s technically incorrect to refer to our current health crisis as ‘The Coronavirus’ when it’s only one strain of several in the coronavirus family. It’s also incorrect to identify the current coronavirus as COVID-19 when the latter is a disease caused by the 7th strain. After a brief history, I’ll explain the differences and correct terminology. WHAT ARE CORONAVIRUSES Coronavirus are a family of viruses thought to be zoonotic i.e. spread from non-human animals to human animals. They can also inflict … Read the full article…
