Marijuana Semi-Legalised in the Western Cape
MARIJUANA ‘LEGALISED’: The Western Cape High Court has ruled that home use of dagga, and the cultivation thereof, is a Constitutional right and must be legalised. Parliament has been given 24 months to alter relevant legislation. The case was brought by Gareth Prince (Rastafari) and Jeremy Acton (Dagga Party) against the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, the Minister of Police, the Minister of Health, the Minister of Trade and Industry and the Director of Public Prosecutions.
