Knysna coloureds protest against prepaid water meters

The tourist town of Knysna experienced a shocking amount of protest action from different groups the past week. This affected the Western Cape as the N2, the only tarred road through Knysna, was repeatedly closed. The action can be divided into three groupings: The first was against the release of assassination suspect, Velile Waxa, the DA’s ex-coalition partner. What went wrong for the DA in Knysna? How did they drop from dictatorship joy to hung Council? Firstly, credit must go where it’s deserved. Donovan Pofadder was the DA’s big surprise. They worked hard to win the new ward but i don’t believe that they could’ve expected it. Pofadder spectacularly clinched the 6th win for his party. At Helen Zille and the DA’s Knysna meeting last week, other topics included food security, weapons security etc. Questioners included Maarten Potgieter (Lighthouse Emporium), Sumaya Taliep (DA) and Bjorn Oria (DA).
