DA Poo #14 – I’m inside this pretty box they gave me

Mike Hampton Posted on 18th Mar 2019 by mikehampton18th Mar 2019
DA poo-political box trapped south africa

“I’m inside a pretty box that feels real, taught to believe that everything outside is terrifying darkness. So no matter how much my little-little box keeps shrinking-shrinking, I’m going to bend and squeeze to stay inside it… and never discover that inside is the lie, and everything outside is all that matters. Constitutional democracy is more for the politicians than voters… which makes them fear other politicians more than us. There’s always someone who wants their chair, or to fight them for the chair with the bigger cushion. From our … Read the full article…

The bums of South Africa’s black Zuma trolls

Mike Hampton Posted on 10th Sep 2018 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020
Black trolls Jacob Zuma Cyril Ramaphosa racism

The ugly side of South Africa showed its bum on my Facebook page yesterday. I’ve written against all colours of racism before but never against politically orientated, black Zuma trolls. I posted a link to the Sunday Times article alleging a conspiracy meeting between ousted President Jacob Zuma, ANC Secretary-General Ace Magashule, former North-West premier Supra Mahumapelo, ANC Women’s League secretary-general Meokgo Matuba and ANC Youth League KZN secretary Thanduxolo Sabelo. It was newsworthy, possibly affecting the immediate future of our country. It was worth sharing. I made no statement, … Read the full article…

NEC Exposed (ANC National Executive Committee)

Mike Hampton Posted on 24th Dec 2017 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

Who controls the ANC NEC, the ANC being the ruling political party in South Africa and the NEC (National Executive Committee) their highest decision-making body? That discussion of control requires the NEC exposed. My previous opinion argued that Cyril Ramaphosa has the power to improve South Africa and that the controversies involving our embassy in Israel, ownership of the Reserve Bank and impending land grabs are part of the political song and dance he must perform well. His ability to dodge or bring together opposing factions will be affected by … Read the full article…

Ramaphosa Has the Power!

Mike Hampton Posted on 23rd Dec 2017 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

Cyril Ramaphosa has the power. That needs to be realised louder than the uselessly negative opinions that have flooded us since his election as ANC president. The past week has been an interesting amalgamation of fear, hope, allegations, lies, tainted victories, hate and hysteria. Being predictable doomsayers will not help South Africans be effectively objective or supportive. A better future requires common sense now. THE COMING LAND GRABS As the ruling party, what the ANC decides as policy has the potential to become law in South Africa. Its recent decisions … Read the full article…

Are Voters Irrelevant to South African Politics?

Mike Hampton Posted on 20th Dec 2017 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

Are voters irrelevant to South African politics? Although my ‘Cyril Ramaphosa and the War for South Africa’ opinion piece on the ANC Conference (and its possible affects) was extremely lengthy, i’ve too many other thoughts buzzing inconveniently. I let some of them them fly here, rather haphazardly… WHITE COMFORTABLENESS & MEDIA FAILING It’s unsurprising how the white population, normally hysterically anti-ANC, has so quickly fitted the possibility of Cyril Ramaphosa becoming President of South Africa in 2019 into something only slightly less than the DA taking over. Unsurprising because the … Read the full article…

Cyril Ramaphosa and the War for South Africa

Mike Hampton Posted on 19th Dec 2017 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

Cyril Ramaphosa has become the President of the African National Congress (ANC), the ruling party of South Africa since 1994. Ramaphosa is closer to becoming President of an increasingly divided country when general elections are held in 2019. However, his ruling the nation isn’t guaranteed. It was a stormy road to the ANC’s 54th National Conference which was held this past weekend (December 16-20 2017). The build-up and the nature of politics carries insight into the uncertain future of South Africa. INCONVENIENT FRIENDS & CONVENIENT ENEMIES 2017 has arguably being … Read the full article…
