Knysna’s municipal budget for the financial year 2012/13 is the first full Democratic Alliance budget for Knysna. This budget, now called the Medium Term Revenue and Expenditure Framework (MTREF), is valid until 2014/2015. According to Grant Easton, Knysna’s director of financial services, the budget reflects the direction in which the new government wishes to move. This austerity budget is described by Easton as “a budget without the frilly bits”.
