The Western Cape Office of the Public Protector and Knysna Magistrates’ Court seems to have no intention of protecting me or the citizens of Knysna. Additionally, there’s been no response from Helen Zille and the DA Federal Executive regarding the threats against myself and “200” subscribers by their Councillor Dr Martin Young. Knysna Tourism Closing Down Tomorrow?

It’s unacceptable that the Public are again kept in the dark regards another Knysna Municipality mess (the flood never stops). Tourism members were sent this email today: “We hereby inform you that the current Service Level Agreement (SLA) between Knysna Municipality and Knysna & Partners [a.k..a. Knysna Tourism) expires this Friday on the 30th of June 2017. Council Today: Will Knysna Tourism Close Down?

The Knysna Council will, today, vote on whether to close Knysna Tourism down, reincorporating it into Knysna Municipality and hiring contractors where needed. The existence of Knysna & Partners, what was previously known as Knysna Tourism, is in jeopardy. During summer, rumours that the organisation may be shut down, reincorporated into Knysna Municipality, flew around like uncomfortable flies. What carried more weight was alleged political influence, that Deputy Mayor Peter Myers was in conflict with CEO Greg Vogt, seeking to get rid of him. This is a continuation of how absurd the Democratic Alliance’s and the Knysna Municipality’s response was to Parliament regarding my allegations of corruption and maladministration in Knysna’s local government and Knysna Tourism… Strangely, as the leading political party is supposed to be oversight, Mayor Georlene Wolmarans handed over the presentation and rebuttal Knysna Tourism section to Grant Easton, the Municipal Manager. Thanks so much to the many people who wished me well for my presentation to Parliament today. It was a whirlwind of a day, a rush in and a rush out. I almost missed my plane back because the Committee allowed me an extra hour (3hrs in all), seemingly into their lunch period. They seemed genuinely interested and had lots of questions.
