Sedgefield Boys Shine at Western Cape Kickboxing Championships

Allister Grootboom and Devron Avery, both awarded with SWD colours for kickboxing earlier this year, were selected to participate in the Western Cape Kickboxing Championships held in Paarl on the 10th October 2015. Even though the Smutsville Development Kickboxing Club has only been going for a short while, these boys have shown endless dedication and talent which shone through this past weekend. Amazing! 2000 Books Donated to Knysna Primary Schools – Thank You Rotary!

The best presents children can receive are love and books! I was online reading all things Knysna when i joyfully bumped into an article in the Chisago County Press (Minnesota, USA) which announced that two Knysna primary schools have received 1000 books each, compliments of the Chisago Lakes Rotary Club. Rotary Turn Up the Heat by Donating Solar Oven to TSiBA Education

On the 26th April, various local and international Rotary Club representatives officially handed over a specialised solar oven to the Tertiary School in Business Administration (TSiBA) Eden campus in Karatara. Dr Dereck Wheeldon talked about the benefits of solar energy – especially important for South Africa with high electricity costs and relatively abundant sunshine. Knysna Rotary Club supports artist Bryan Keenen

Bryan Keenen, the artists, is as a familiar site in Woodmill Lane as his dog, Jock of Knysna. Both were treated recently when the Knysna Rotary Club delivered a bright blue trolley that can not only carry several paintings but Jock too. The trollet was made by Rotarians Mick Furman (in the picture) and Mike Smerdon. Love the charity spirit!

Knysna Splash 2012 – Dec 21 & 22

  Splash Mud Run – 21 December The event is an obstacle course following a circular route with the start and end positions in Union Street at the entrance to the Knysna Sea Cadets Base. The total length of the route is about 6 km. Registration at the Sea Cadets Base will begin at 09:00 and close at 10:30. Entrants are free to start as soon as they have registered. Knysna & Bath Interact Clubs Paint Creche

On the 6th February 2012, a group of Interacters from Bath, England, came on a tour to South Africa to do some community outreach.
