A car crash on the N2 near the turn-off to Old Cape Road in Knysna has driven from seeming disaster into a very good news story! Last night, April 10, two locals, a man and his wife, were traveling towards town centre when the man fell asleep at the wheel. The car veered across the on-coming traffic lane and, at an angle, smashed through 3 barrier posts. Splotches, double lines, arrows ignored – this N2 road painting in Knysna looks like it was a job for drunks. Concerned that that the poor job would continue, and that taxpayers’ cash would be wasted on repairs, i emailed my Ward 10 councillor, Deputy Mayor Peter Myers. “Please view the attachments [photos]. I love Zapiro! His cartoons cut to the bone whilst making me giggle. Truth hurts but we may as well smile after gaining it. Thinking of Nkandla, their population is basically the size of Knysna and Plett together. If that money that was spent on that rural town, that doesn’t carry the importance of our N2, had been spent here, everyone would have houses, all our aging pipes replaced, potholes fixed and our dam built.
