To have requests and submissions passed and rules made, the process begins with the Section 80 Meeting which is headed by a Councillor from the Executive Mayoral Committee (MAYCO). Here issues are most debated. Knysna Potholes & More…

Potholes have become the symbol for Knysna’s failing infrastructure and citizen worry that our town’s finances are in trouble. The DA blames the problem of failing infrastructure on the previous ANC government. but the reality is that both administrations are to blame. High salaries, cronyism and spending on luxuries such as expensive furniture have created the prediction that Knysna will be R1billion short on roads, pipes etc. over the next 15 years. This means that Knysna will continue to fall apart.

These are the dates and times for Knysna’s municipal meetings being held in September 2014 in the Council Chambers at the Knysna Municipality in Clyde Street. Section 80 meetings are where topics are introduced. If approved, they are then sent on to the Mayoral Committee. If approved there, they are sent to the Council. The public are allowed to attend.
