Politicians aren’t special, they have special responsibility

Dear Fellow Citizens, Politicians aren’t special. What they’ve got is ‘special’ responsibility. The only time they deserve respect, which is the same for everybody else, is when they get their job done well. Our acceptance of any lesser standard makes us servants… the dumbest kind that pays tax to be slaves and cowards. I’d rather be smart.

Dear Politicians, Cops, Journalists and Chapter 9 Institutions. Dear Conspiracy of Corrupt Silence. By ignoring the Democratic Alliance crime I’ve reported, you’ve forsaken morality and duty. That choice is about you – your salary, your political bias, your bigotry etc. Your choice doesn’t consider the victim, making you the aggressor too. In the way a gang member watches a fellow gang member rape a woman, you’re guilty of the DA’s rape of the People of the Western Cape.

It may not be smart of me to fight corruption you’ve made unbeatable, but I could never live being a liar like you. I have standards.

Public Comment #2: DA vs Mike Hampton

Public comment 2 DA vs Mike Hampton

Trolls are nasty and cheap with facts. Solid comments are rare but there have been a lot more lately. I sometimes don’t know who the commentator is, things getting written farther afield than my pages. Cldntgiveash1t is obviously an anonymous profile but I share because its profile has recorded thousands of comments, sufficient for me to believe there’s real intent that belies the terrific profile name. This was posted on the Knysna-Plett Herald’s page. They’re the newspaper with a coveted spot in the DA’s arsehole. They wouldn’t allow me right … Read the full article…

Parable about political charity

Mike Hampton Posted on 16th Jan 2018 by mikehampton18th Feb 2021

One day a florist went to a Knysna barber for a haircut. After the cut, he asked the barber for his bill. The barber replied, “I cannot accept money from you. I’m doing charity service this week.” The florist was pleased and left the shop. When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a ‘Thank You’ card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door. Later, a traffic officer went for a haircut. When he tried to pay his bill, the barber again … Read the full article…

If Local Politicians Cared, They’d Say & Do This…

Mike Hampton Posted on 24th Jan 2016 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

WE NEED We need local political and municipal leaders who put an emphasis on public service, not self-service. We need political representation that puts us, the public, first (unclouded by provincial or national interests). We need Councillors who are willing to sign a commitment form… and be voted out of office if they fail in their duty to do their best to uphold their election goals. We need elected officials whose agenda and constitution are easy to understand. We need plain speaking political parties and independents that seek and deliver … Read the full article…
