Irony is woven into South Africa’s political fabric. But, even for someone as immune to it as I am, this week’s debate on affirmative action hosted by the Black Management Forum took irony to a new level. The topic focused on affirmative action’s impact 20 years into our democracy. The BMF’s point of departure was that affirmative action has not been effective enough.
