Donald Trump & his crazy South African supporters

Mike Hampton Posted on 3rd Feb 2020 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

This is about that overweight, self-absorbed, orange man called President Donald Trump. More importantly, this is criticism of bat-shit crazy South Africans who support him on social media as if he’s the solution to the injustices we suffer as members of a greedy planet. THE FINGER VERSUS THE BOMB There’s that saying: “Don’t bring a knife to a gunfight”. The proportional Africanism, in respect to the USA, China and the UK, is: “Don’t bring a pointing finger to a bomb fight.” This week, the the Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly known … Read the full article…

This economic crash is gonna hurt more

Mike Hampton Posted on 7th Feb 2019 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020
Economic crash, the next global financial crisis

Another economic crash is coming. I’m worried it’ll happen within a few years. Hell, I’m worried that it’ll happen tomorrow during lunch break. No matter when it occurs, it’ll be terrible, unlike any suicide we’ve experienced before. Have no doubt that it’ll be our fault. A lesson not learned is pain we owe ourselves. GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS (GFC) In 2007/2008, I couldn’t persuade my father to alter his retirement funds, or get a friend to trade several mortgages for owning one property outright. I get it. Why believe me? I’m … Read the full article…

Saluting You (The Small Business Owner)

Mike Hampton Posted on 7th Apr 2018 by mikehampton11th Aug 2018
brave small business owners south africa

Electricity surges like only electricity can Rates make a date with government like only government can The politicians fight in a way that makes no difference to my brother’s drug addiction, my daughter’s primary school fees, my matriculating son’s future or my stressed spouse’s opinion of me Yet I open the doors to my business everyday… plotting revised adverts and word of mouth specials to locals in the same position as me whilst wondering which staff member I will have to let go next, maybe someone in worse position than … Read the full article…

Update: NewERA vs South African Banks

Mike Hampton Posted on 10th Oct 2012 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

Here is an update from NewERA regards their case against South Africa’s banks (Johannesburg High Court case number 27478/12). This affects us all but is particularly relevant to those experiencing problems with loan repayments. To help you understand our case, we have just uploaded the recordings taken while we were editing the documents. They are informal and at times humorous (please be warned about the occasional outburst of frustration with the odd expletive, and please do not take any of the aside comments seriously) but these sound files explain our … Read the full article…

Silly Money

Mike Hampton Posted on 31st Jul 2012 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

Comedy is sometimes more truthful than reality. These short skits by John Bird and John Fortune make fun of the Recession but also express the foolhardiness and greed that got us to the tough times we are in. They are brilliant so well worth 15 minutes of your day! Laugh while you learn…

Walk the Talk

Mike Hampton Posted on 23rd May 2012 by mikehampton23rd Jan 2021

Knysna is in trouble. Many of you were already suffering but the Recession has made it far worse. The cracks in our town are showing; empty shops, more beggars and the weight of depression that so many wear on their faces. During our period of need, the politicians have turned their backs on us. They don’t address important topics such as unemployment, food prices, homes being auctioned, crime and drugs. BUT they still earn their big salaries. Instead of getting angry, people have too often given in to despair, some … Read the full article…

Only the South African Public Can Save Itself

Mike Hampton Posted on 15th Mar 2012 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

The South African police are corrupt and incompetent. The media have sold their soul to advertizers instead of the pursuit of truth. Politicians make promises that, after election, become lies – their fake policies and self-enrichment transcending their duty to the public (the victim). Mega corporations work hand in hand with them, hurting instead of helping, ensuring that education and food is delivered at a price that costs far too much. Worse, the public make opinions of others based on race instead of fact, thus becoming it’s own assailant, a … Read the full article…

Ron Paul for President!

Mike Hampton Posted on 27th Jan 2012 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

As a continuation of explaining how Knysna (and South Africa) are affected by world politics and recession, i share with you an article about Ron Paul, a candidate for the US presidency, which i wrote for my personal, less publicly “presentable” blog. Simply, if you don’t believe that US politics and money markets affect us here in Knysna, then you are an idiot. It’s way past time that the general public stopped being fearful, ignorant ostriches with their heads buried in the sand. It’s unlikely that Ron Paul will win … Read the full article…
