The sheep are pimps in Knysna (pronounced ‘Nice-Naai’)

Peter Myers Knysna DA Fedex battle

And now it’s time for an unpopular blog… Knysna is a never-washed dildo for a never-ending brothel of corrupt politicians and officials. The batteries may have died this week but echoes of sadomasochist orgasms continue to kill seahorses and loerie birds. Poodles on Leisure Isle bark, “Lead the way,” as the last elephant runs for its life through a forest of thorns. Soon all that will remain are useless citizens too dumb too fight. The poetic expression of pain, “Cry the beloved country,” belongs here. But not for vile misuse … Read the full article…

Controversial Creche Closure in Upper Olde Place

Mike Hampton Posted on 1st Oct 2014 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

A Facebook post about the closure of a creche in Upper Olde Place Knysna, on the corner of Boekenhout and Old Toll Road, led to sufficient disagreement in the comment section to prompt this blog and a posting of the contents from the Council Meeting that refused the application from the already running, and allegedly illegal, creche. The FB post simply stated: “A creche in Upper Old Place, on the corner of Boekenhout and Old Toll Road, is to be closed down after objections by Graham McDonald who complained about … Read the full article…

Leon Naude, KRA, Racists, Protests & Politicians (Part 1)

Mike Hampton Posted on 26th Aug 2014 by mikehampton7th Jan 2021

I shared the public’s outrage at Leon Naude (Chairman of the Knysna Ratepayers’ Association) after he called for live ammunition to be used on the N2 protestors from Oupad, Knysna. The Knysna Ratepayers’ Association was resurrected last year. Organisations such as it are particularly important so that we, the public, maintain oversight over our local government. It’s my hope that it rebuilds itself into a strong, valuable force. However, I don’t believe that that can happen under the current leadership. In particular, it was obvious that their leader, Leon Naude, … Read the full article…

Let's Shoot Knysna's Protestors

Mike Hampton Posted on 24th Aug 2014 by mikehampton1st Nov 2020

Leon Naude, the chairman of the Knysna Ratepayers’ Association (KRA), has responded to the protests on the N2 in Knysna (Nekkies/Oupad area) by calling for live ammunition to be used. His exact words were, “The police is to SOFT they should use rubber bullits or even better LIVE AMO our country is is not going to edge of the cliff WE are STADING ON THE EDGE.” The capital letters and bad spelling are his doing, not mine. He’s obviously serious that poor people who want the Knysna Municipality to listen … Read the full article…

Why I Quit the Knysna Ratepayers’ Association (KRA)

Mike Hampton Posted on 11th Oct 2013 by mikehampton7th Jan 2021

I quit the Knysna Ratepayers’ Association (KRA). My participation was short; 1 public meeting and 2 committee meetings. This is not only why I did so but why it’s important for you to demand accountability if you choose to become a member. It’s especially important to any Knysna residents’ association that is considering joining. 2 weeks ago, I sent the following resignation: “Owing to the lack of response and my concerns about the KRA, i will be resigning from the KRA.  The KRA should be a watchdog rather than it … Read the full article…
